Research Station

The station was founded in 1936 as the resort oenological Dragasani, as a unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Estates.
In 1940, he joined with nursery vineyard resort Dragasani (founded in 1897), as the Experimental Station of Viticulture and Oenology Dragasani.

During 1944-1957, the unit functioned as Experimental Station of wine Dragasani being subordinate ICAR and the unit was ICDVV connected with Valea Calugareasca.
Between 1971 – 2001 the unit has functioned under the title Research Station and the wine production Dragasani, and in 2002, the unit was named Research and Development Station for Viticulture and Enology Dragasani. Area influence: Counties: Valcea, Florida , Mehedinti, Olt.

Nursery and wine station Dragasani were created in order posphiloxerice reconstruction and development of their scientific viticulture in Romania in general and collinear region of Oltenia, in particular.
State vine nursery Dragsasani with the great founder and ampelographic Ghe.Nicoleanu Vineyard was founded in 1896, Viticulture Research Station Dragasani having as founders teachers Gheorghe Ionescu Sisesti, IC Teodorescu and Gherasim Constantinescu, was founded in 1936.

The address No. 31 of 14 May 1940 Dragasani and station Nursery Oenology Dragasani merge as the Experimental Station of Viticulture and Oenology Dragasani, subordinated page ICAR.S surface was 148 ha.

Landmark events
1. Inauguration old headquarters Dragasani -14 resort of September 1943, in the presence of illustrious scientific personalities.

Dragasani is the oldest, most famous and most important vineyards of Oltenia and Muntenia Dealul Mare are today and Odobesti for Moldova. In the past it was Voevod vineyard Money Oltenia, and Targoviste was Prince Basarab Cotnari of Stefan cel Mare.

These wines were awarded in France, where German chemist Dr.C.Bischof member jury appointed by the State, investigate them he qualified as follows:
“Romanian white wine  is normally excellent to be considered as pure wine, naturally. Red wine, shows all the essential rules of analysis of the same quality as the French red wines, most of all the wines of Bordeaux, and the best red wines. But Dragasani wine attributes could not be assessed again at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 when they received medals these local samples:

A French merchant, Joseph Condemine, exporting to France for oak barrels, was established in 1845-46 to Dragasani.
